Coffee Bean Dreams

>> June 17, 2010

As I mentioned on Monday, I've been a little bit out of commission since I had my Wisdom teeth (plus 2!) removed. I have been on percocet, an antibiotic, and 800 mg Ibuprofen. I'm usually not THAT crazy on drugs, but I've been having some crazy dreams. {truth be told, I've had crazy dreams before, see here.. but I can blame it on the narcotics, right?}

One dream involved my good friend (and boss), Lina, and her husband Bryce. I don't even know what Lina was saying to me, but she was gesturing, and talking, and giggling. I was just staring at her, confused. Bryce was standing behind Lina laughing HYSTERICALLY. But I don't have a clue at what.

I then interrupt their laughter and yell, "I NEED black coffee!!"

I mentioned this on Twitter, and Tori recommended this dream meanings dictionary. Let's see if this offers any insight.

First, the laughing:

To dream that you are laughing, suggests that you need to lighten up and let go of your problems. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Laughing is also a sign of joyous release and pleasure. If you are being laughed at, then it indicates your insecurities and fears of not being accepted.

To hear the cheerful laughter of children, denotes splendid joy and vital health.

To hear evil, demonic laughing in your dream, represents feelings of humiliation and/or helplessness.
Sad! I don't feel like I have insecurities, especially with Lina. She's one of my bestest friends. EVER. Maybe Bryce makes me nervous.. haha. Whatever that means. OH man.

and then the coffee...

To dream that you are drinking or need your coffee, suggests that you should gain some insight and knowledge before making a decision or tackling some project/relationship. You may be acting too hasty and need to slow down. Alternatively, it may imply a need for you to change your routine.

To dream that you are drinking coffee with someone, indicates that you might have feelings for that person. Alternatively, having coffee with someone denotes your hospitality and sociability.

To see a coffee pot in your dream, signifies hospitality and sharing of knowledge, hopes, concerns and/or ideas. It may also represent neighborliness, comfort, and companionship.

I don't even really like coffee. Weird.

Any insight for me before I tackle a big project? I don't have a clue what THAT means.

Have YOU had any weird dreams lately?

Motivation? YES please!

>> April 2, 2010

Where the HELL is Spring?! Seriously Utah? SNOW?! What did we do to deserve such punishment. Sadness. That was not a good April Fools Joke yesterday! Them weather gods, they're seriously mean.

But.. in other news, I think I found the Motivation I wrote about needing: here. But its not like I can really pinpoint the exact reason behind it.

I have met a lot of new blogger / twitter friends, and I think they've really had a big impact on me, some of my newest favorites are here, here, here, and here.

I've been keeping a food journal this week. Not even to count calories, just to keep track of what I eat, and to maybe figure out why I've been feeling so run down lately. Sometimes, I get sick after I eat, but I don't really know why.. so we'll see. Speaking of sicknesses, if you remember my post here, when I wrote about going to the Doctor excitement: YEAH that was silly. I shouldn't have been excited. I went to the Doctor last week, and she actually told me that my neck was swollen because I'm overweight! Which, yeah, I'm a little overweight, but I'm getting smaller.. and she's the one that told me that I could have a thyroid problem in the first place. Sigh.. she did the TSH test, and it came back normal, so I have a normal thyroid, so its like back to square one. Sigh. A little frustrating that she put the hypothyroid idea into my head clear back in November! Sheesh!

I've been toying with a few ideas this week, and I'm not quite sure which ones I will go with... Any thoughts?

I am pretty sure I am going to sign up for Gold's Gym. Right now they have a deal where you join for a $1 , and then its only $20 a month. I think that's a pretty good deal! And I really want to check out some group classes.

I also bought the 30 Day Shred for $7 bucks at Target last weekend! I only have a few more days to finish my Wii Active 30 Day challenge, so I'm excited to start something new. Even if I already know its totally going to kick my ass. Target also had vinyl jump ropes for cheap, so I bought one of those. I haven't done that in years! and it was a lot of fun! I was so proud of myself for doing the criss-cross jump. Next I'll be jump roping backwards, guess there are just somethings you don't forget. (wink, wink)

Because of some inspiration from Kat, I have decided to try the 200 Sit Up Challenge. Lina and Ashley are both going to do it with me too, so I'm excited to get started! Click here to join in too!

I've also been toying with the idea of trying some form of the Eat Clean Diet. Has anyone out there tried it out? I just don't know that I could do the eating 6 times a day thing. My life involves a lot of eating out with friends, and work, and everything - so I am a little leery about it.

Friday!

>> February 26, 2010

Doesn't it make you excited for Spring?
I can't wait.

I'm so excited it's Friday, that I decided to use bullets. Fun, right?

  • I have a cold. How un-cool is that? Last Friday I decided that I was going to have a stomach flu.. or something, and as soon as I started to feel normal, I even posted on twitter that I was starting to be okay again.. Then, my dad decided to share his cold. People think about getting sick, and I get sick! Ach!

  • Today is Friday. And that makes me happy, no, not because I get to sleep in tomorrow, I have classes in the morning (where I have a midterm I haven't yet really studied for, oops). But I also get to go out to Dinner with some of my favorite people tonight! At Jason's Deli.. which is awesome, because the food is good. But do you know what the best part is? Complimentary Ice Cream Cones!

  • Tomorrow.. after the midterm that I need to study for.. I am going for Pizza with my High School friends. I'm excited for that too. I hope everyone can come! I'm hoping that it doesn't snow so Suzanne can come.. yes

  • The Olympics are so good. I'm kind of sad that they're almost over. Some of my favorites have been.. Apolo Ohno, for sure! Shaun White. Lindsey Vonn. Joannie Rochette, that won the bronze medal last night. That was so touching, I felt so bad for her, but I think its awesome the way the whole world pulled behind her and really supported her after her mother's death. So hard.

  • And the Canadian girls Hockey team. I know they beat us so I should be mad at them. But how cool is it that everyone in the stands sings along to Oh Canada?! We don't do that... and they've won the gold like that, three times. three times! in a row! Talk about some major girl power.

  • The Healthcare Summit: all I have to say is wow. It was historical, but I don't know that it got us anywhere.. can we make it a weekly thing for a few weeks? And that exchange between Obama & McCain "we're not campaigning anymore, John" wow. (quote may not be exact, don't hate me)

  • I'm also back on Twitter. Blame Lina Buchanan for that. Silly, silly Lina.. was all excited when she joined Twitter a few weeks ago, and I was all "I did that for awhile, but got sick of it" and then I decided to log back in and see what was going on. Welll.. that was weeks ago, and I'm still addicted. And I've met so many new friends, and have really decided that I want to join some of the weekly chat things that they do. Yeah.. I like it. Again! So check me out @nicoleeelkington, if you want have a tweeterati part-ay.

Yay for Friday! What are you doing this weekend?

Dinner with the Girls, and Carmen's Farewell

Lina & Me

Me, Heather, and Lina

On the 6th, my "library friends" and I went down to Gateway for our annual Christmas dinner, hangout. We went to California Pizza Kitchen, and then walked around Gateway to see the lights. I love those girls. They are some of my favorite people. And Carmen's kids are getting so big! Jathan talked and talked and talked! It was adorable. They're moving to Pennsylvania, right after Christmas, so this was our last dinner with them, for at least a year. Very sad.. but I'm excited for them and their new adventures. Jathan said more than once, "we're really going to miss you guys." :( We're all going to miss you too!!

My Bday present from Lina

>> December 18, 2009

As I said in my last post, I have job news! I am no longer working at the Rack. Today was my 2nd day at Mountain Land Rehabilitation, where I work with my friend Lina! Its so amazing, I wanted a different, better, job but I didn't really think much was possible, so I really wasn't trying very hard.. Crazy huh?

It all happened just before Thanksgiving. I was on Gmail, and annoyed that I could never really qualify for Insurance with The Rack, so I posted on my gchat status that I really "needed a job with insurance!!" almost immediately two of my friends replied and started talking to me! One of which was Lina. Who I worked with at the good ol' Library, and who is one of my bestest friends. I couldn't believe it when by the end of the day we were discussing about when I could come in for an Interview with her boss, for a job that paid me %25 more, and gave me benefits, weekends, nights, and holidays off, and a flexible enough schedule where I could still go to school! After Thanksgiving, I interviewed with Lina & her boss, and she called me to offer me the job while I was still driving home from the Interview! I gave my notice at the rack, my last day was Sunday, finished up finals, had my birthday, and started working with Lina yesterday, the 17th. Yay! So yeah.. I'm excited. And couldn't be more thankful for my good friend Lina. :) Talk about a great Birthday / Christmas present, am I right?
