Musical Monday

Hello everyone. Yes, I just got back from Vegas last night. Yes, I will post pictures and stories about my trip this week. But, I need to go buy cat food, do laundry, fit in a work out, and then go to the good Ol' Nordstrom Rack. So for today, let's look at a musical meme that I found interesting.. ;)

Church choir? Not the church choir, but yes, school choirs.

What is your favorite song right now? Lately, all I seem to get in my head is Michael Jackson songs.

Favorite Lyrics? My favorite of all time is John Lennon's Imagine, but for current music, I really like The Script's The Man Who Can't Be Moved.

Favorite Band? The Beatles and U2. Always.

Favorite Soloist? That's hard.. I like Britney Spears and Christina, but I love Kanye, Rihanna, and T.I. too.

Favorite Musical (theatre)? Les Miserables

Favorite Musical (movie)? My Fair Lady, or Grease

Have you ever belonged to a mail order music club? Yup.

Do you still have your old tape collection? Yup Yup. Along with tapes we made when we were little, oh man.. My Elementary school best friend ,Sarah, my sister, and I used to have our own radio stations. Yeah, you know you're jealous.

Do you let your friends borrow your music? Not really, no.

If you were stranded on a deserted island what CD would you take with you? U2's Joshua Tree, Britney's Blackout, Matchbox Twenty, or The Beatles 1.

Getting to Know Me

Another blogger did this, so I thought hey why not, anybody can participate :D

What time d0 you get up in the morning?
If I don't have to go to work or school, I wake up between 8 and 9 am, to make a mad dash to the bathroom.

Diamonds or pearls?
This is a hard one. I think diamonds look the best, but I have a thing about diamonds and searching for them, that the movie Blood Diamond just made worse. So, I would love to go out and find my own diamonds somewhere.. that would be cool. And, I really don't love Pearls, a little bit, with a retro-esq wedding dress is AWESOME, but every day life? I'll take CZ's instead. Thank you.

What is your favorite TV show?
Currently on TV: American Idol, or the Amazing Race. Of all time: FRIENDS or Dawson's Creek

What do you usually have for breakfast?
I never used to eat Breakfast, and truly hate the hubbub about Breakfast food. Eggs = Yuck, Sausage = blah.. you get the point. But, after my current health kick awakening, I usually have 1/2 a bagel, fat free cream cheese, fruit, and juice. ;)

What is your middle name?
Anne

What food do you dislike?
Hot dogs. Stroganoff. Most seafood.

What is your favorite CD at moment?
My favorite CD lately is probably Britney Spears. I know, I know. Although, I don't usually really listen to CDs, I actually like the Radio, or my IPod better.

What kind of car do you drive?
'06 Mazda 6i, her name is Ruby, because she's red.

Favorite sandwich?
Ham and Swiss. Melted cheese. Yum.

What characteristic do you despise?
Really bossy, disrespectful, know-it-all people; or most people named Michelle.

Favorite item of clothing?
Sweatshirts.

If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
I love Europe. It is my favorite place in the world. But, , since I've already been to England, France, Germany, and Italy.. lets go for South America. I want to see Easter Island, Machu Picchu, and Christ The Redeemer above Rio.

Favorite brand of clothing?
If I could spend any amount of money, and they would fit perfectly, I really like True Religion jeans, and their jackets.

Where would you retire to?
I think it'd be awesome to have a few time shares scattered around the world. Or maybe just to a cruise ship, but I think I may get sea sick.

What was your most memorable birthday?
I like all Birthdays ;)

Favorite sport to watch?
Basketball and Football. Especially their respective playoffs and finals/ Super Bowl.

I can be both. As long as there has been good pre-sleeping to prepare.

A Pediatrician, then a Nurse.. Because I didn't want to spend that much time in school to be a Doctor. If only I would have known, I have a severe problem with death and don't really like bodily functions.

1. Have you ever been searched by the cops?
Nope.

2. Do you close your eyes on roller coasters?
Not usually. No. I LOVE roller coasters, and am usually screaming with my arms high above my head.

3. When’s the last time you’ve been sledding?
A few years ago, at Wolf Creek Ranch.

4. Do you believe in ghosts?
Yeah, I think so. Although I don't really think they're menacing.. except that one in my dream a few days ago.

5. Do you consider yourself creative?
Yes, but it depends on what medium were talking.

6. Do you think O.J. killed his wife?
Most definitely.

7. Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie?
I really like them both. But if I had to choose, I would choose Angelina, because I admire her more for who she is in life, and all of the work she does for the world and the United Nations. But Rachel is still my favorite FRIEND.

Yes. I think I know quite a lot. Some may say too much?

9. Do you know how to play poker?
Yup.

10. Have you ever been awake for 48 hours straight?
I'm not sure. I think probably not. 24, or 36 definitely a few times, but I think by the time I would get to 48 I would be passed out.

11. What’s your favorite commercial?
My favorite was during the NBA finals, around 2002 or 2003, where Kobe plays basketball with the little kids. I think it was a McDonald's commercial.

12. Who was your first crush?
Brett Hendricks. 2nd grade. Oh yeah.

13. If you’re driving in the middle of the night, and no one is around you, do you run a red light?
I think I have before.. but I usually don't. With my luck, a cop will come out of nowhere.

14. Do you have a secret that no one knows but you?
Doesn't everyone?

15. Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees?
Yankees all the way! Although I've been pretty disappointed with Baseball lately. It seems each season there's a steroid controversy.

Yes, and I am NOT good at it. I promised Ashley we'd go to Rockefeller Plaza in NYC to ice skate though, so I am going to need to practice. Anyone know good ankle strengthening exercises?

Almost always.

Right now:food, I'm hungry.

Always. That was engraved into my head as a child. Must have seat belt on before vehicle moves, at all.

1. Dr. Pepper - I love Dr. Pepper, its almost sad how happy it truly makes me. See my post here, entitled Dr Pepper is Heaven, to read more about just how happy. :)
2. The sound and smell of Rain. It is one of my very favorite things. I think this is why I loved London so much. Rain.. {and its raining tonight, so yay!}
   
3. Taking pictures. Especially of the pretty clouds, flowers, mountains. Haha. Guess I like nature. Whenever I have a camera with me, I take a million pictures. I really need a new one!

B is for Bob

A blogging friend tagged me to do this alphabet tag. She gave me the letter B, so here we go - I have to write ten things that I like that start with B.



1. Breakfast at Tiffany's: One of the BEST Audrey Hepburn movies. I love the song Moon River.
2. The Beach: I love the water.. and the warm sand between your toes. SO much better than stupid snow! Especially Santa Monica Pier. I love Piers, even the Pier in Chicago is fun, on Lake Michigan. Yeah, I love Beaches.. but not the movie Beaches, yuck.



3. Big Sunglasses: My friend Angie thinks that they make you look like bugs, but that's too bad, I love sunglasses.. the bigger the better. I loved these black ones I had this last summer, but they broke. :( Sadness.


4. Brad Pitt: Yum

5. Blogging: I never used to blog on Myspace, but now that I have started this blog.. I can't stop! I guess I just like to be listened to (or the illusion of being listened to).


6. Books: I have always loved to read. It is one of my favorite things, to get lost in a book. I am currently trying to read 50 books in 2009. Link here to see my list.
7. Babies Laughs: Babies.. are the best. I love their cute little faces, and when they make funny little noises. But the best part is their Laughs.
8. BBC News Radio: This might show that I am a total news nerd, but I love listening to BBC Radio on my way to / from school. It's my way of catching up on the news every morning. (the crazy things is when I get home I have to see what's on CNN too, haha). I think I enjoy it the most because it's different than the News here in the US, it's a lot more international. For example, have you heard much about the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka? Didn't think so.

25 Things Tag

1. I love to travel. I have been to 15 states, and 6 countries. (not including Utah or the U.S.A)
2. I've been to California the most, at least 5 times.
3. I don't have any balance skills. My right thumb is a casualty of this. It hasn't grown since August 1993.
4. I can't whistle, do cartwheels, or roller blade.
5. I obsess over things I love, some examples are: Obama, Anderson Cooper, Disney Movies, CNN, and The Beatles.
6. I want to name two of my children based on influences in #5.
7. I have had the song "meat pies" from Sweeney Todd in my head for about 4 days. Maybe its a symptom of the stupid cold I have that won't go away.
8. I haven't blogged in over a week - another symptom of this forsaken sickness.
9. I have a "to read" list of over 50 books. I like to read.
   
10. My favorite color is red. My favorite candy bars are Three Musketeers. My favorite season is Fall, and my favorite movies are Roman Holiday and The Pursuit of Happyness. I used to like Breakfast at Tiffany's more than Roman Holiday.
    
11. When I was little I didn't want to be white anymore - especially after I learned about the upheaval of Native Americans, and Racial Discrimination in this country.
    
12. I thoroughly enjoy taking pictures. Especially of traveling, clouds, and silly pictures with friends & family.
    
13. One of my favorite things is to blog. I love it. Sometimes I even sit around and try to think of blog ideas.
    
14. I loathed writing papers in middle school. (But now I do it for fun, haha)
    
15. Three of my favorite things: the Beach, Cotton Candy, and Nachos.
16. I have taken 4 languages.
    
17. I have only seen rare glimpses of my natural hair color since 1999.
18. My car's name is Ruby.
19. I am a big list maker. I don't think I used to make a lot of lists.. until somewhat recently. But now, I make lists for everything. Such as the for mentioned "to read" list, or all of the different lists I have made on this here blog.
    
20. I am a very visual learner. You can make me listen and listen to lectures, but if I don't write anything down.. I will forget it all. I think some teachers / students find this annoying as I scribble millions of notes down during classes.
    
21. I can't see red marker on white boards. I had to ask Mrs. Price, in my High School Physics class to write in a different color so I could see - almost every day.
    
22. I have worked at many places since High School. Sometimes I look at my friends, and how they've managed to stay at one or two jobs that whole time and think wow, and get jealous, or feel inadequate. But then I realize that that's because I was indecisive about what I wanted to do in school. Plus, I have met some of my very favorite people at my many jobs, I don't regret this.
    
23. I enjoy learning about different cultures. I usually rotate, and read and learn about one culture, then move on to another. However, I always seem to make it back to the Middle East.
    
24. I love my major. One of my professors, on the first day of class, said Social Workers were people that, "believed everything should be fair and equal" and that they work to make the world more like that. "That's not fair!" has been my motto my entire life. Perfect fit.
    
25. Michelangelo is the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Hands down.

1. 10 years ago...
I was 14, and in 9th grade. That was a good year. Probably one of my favorite grades. We all felt so old and important, haha. Until that whole 'hit list' thing came around and things got a little more dicey!
2. 5 years ago...
I was 19. I had just started working for the Family History Library, I remember thinking on the first day "I'm not sure I want to do this.. " and contemplating not coming back the next day. Haha. I ended up staying there for 3 years! And I don't regret a minute of it, I met some of my BESTEST friends during those 3 years; and I think I really grew up a lot there.
3. 1 year ago..
I had just become Title Clerk at Jordan Credit Union. Trying to fix all of the fun mistakes and things that had just been overlooked for years. That was exciting. I also went to San Francisco one year ago, I love that place. I want to go back! The air of the trolley in your face.. the loudness of the sea lions, and who doesn't love the SFO hills?! haha
4. Yesterday..
Started out like a good day. We decided to goto the Greek Festival downtown. It was fun. I have pics of it on my facebook page. I really liked the dancing! But the food was interesting, very Greek, And then I decided to pop my tire, and had to wait forever to get it fixed, and now my poor car Ruby is sitting at a Mazda Dealership in Murray until she can be fixed on Monday. Sad..
